Working Together
Whether we work together individually, with a partner or with family members, I’m dedicated to helping you heal and integrate all parts of who you are. We will work together collaboratively to create a customized therapy experience blending traditional and modern therapy techniques to suit your specific needs. I’m here to guide you through a non-judgemental exploration of your concerns with the knowledge and use of evidence based techniques. Your life isn’t one-dimensional, therapy shouldn’t be either.
Healing the Whole Woman
I use what I have coined the Me.She.We approach which honors the whole woman: your inner needs (Me), your experience in the world (She) and your partnerships with others (We). I prioritize what area of your life needs focus first to give you the quickest relief. Click below to learn more about the common themes I often work through with my clients.
Therapy Techniques we may work with:
Therapy is not one size-fits all. We work collaboratively to understand what therapy techniques resonate with your growth and learning style. Here are some techniques that we may work with.
Psychodynamic
A traditional talk therapy approach that explores the layers of human experience beginning with childhood experience and early family relationships. Used in conjunction with other therapy styles this method can help us understand the origins of how and why we relate to ourselves and others and make adjustments where necessary.
EDMR
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a therapy that addresses trauma symptoms that are resistant to traditional talk therapy. A series of right to left eye movements or other right/left stimulation (tapping) is used to help the mind integrate right brain and left brain to recalibrate towards reduced reactivity to trauma triggers and increased mental wellness.
Mindfulness
Mindfulness is learned practice of non-judgemental observation of our mind, body, emotions, and reactions that allows us to reduce stress, and connect more authentically with ourselves and our needs.
CBT/DBT
(Cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapy) is a more structured style of traditional talk therapy that provides a holistic look at how feelings, thoughts and actions (or behaviors) interact with one another. Targeted problem-solving and emotional regulation skills are taught and utilized to give us agency over symptoms such as mood fluctuation, anxiety, depression, or addiction.
